The musical "Oliver!" was adapted from the book "Oliver Twist," written by Charles Dickens. "Oliver!" is one of the most beloved British musicals, vividly bringing to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more. The sensational score is full of irresistible songs such as "Food Glorious Food" and "Consider Yourself." "Oliver" will run every Friday and Saturday night through September 25. September 16-18 - The 13th Annual National Cowboy Poetry Rodeo returns to Montrose. Held in conjuction with the San Juan Western Heritage Festival, events take place at the historic Turn of the Century Saloon. The Festival will feature live entertainment with a Saturday evening show by singer and songwriter Brenn Hill.

Come honor the traditions at the Montrose Indian Nations Powwow at Friendship Hall, Sept. 24, 25 and 26. This is the largest indoor powwow on the Western Slope of Colorado. Everyone is invited! Dancers will come from all over the country to compete for $20,000 in prize money. We have Native American artists, artisans and food vendors at the Indian Market, as well as other local artists and crafters. The Master of Ceremonies is Alex O. Sept. 25 - 4th Annual Creekpaloozaat Canyon Creek Bed & Breakfast 820 Main Street. Montrose with music from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. non-stop,benefiting the Kirwan-Carr Foundation: Supporting Individuals Affected by Attempted Suicide. The event is Free, Contributions Gladly Accepted.The musicians involved with the benefit generously donate their time and talent.
A portion of each drink sold is donated to a charity. In the past the caterer of the event has also made a monetary contribution. Over $6000 has been raised in the past three years and donated to local charities. All of the proceeds this year will benefit the Kirwan-Carr Foundation.
